In August, 1939, the German-Soviet nonaggression pact was signed by the German and Soviet chancellors Joachim von Ribbentrop and Viacheslav Mijailovich 'Mólotov'. In this paper, we coherently review, from a strictly soviet point of view, such agreement, as well as the additional secret protocol to the pact. This review includes the official historical self-criticism on the pact and protocol carried out by Soviet authorities through the Congressional Commission presided by Alexandr Yákovlev.
