Abstract
- Abstract: Boron nitride (BN) nanotubes were synthesized by annealing an iron thin film evaporated on boron pellets at 1000 °C in nitrogen gas atmosphere. The growth mechanism and atomic structures of the BN nanotubes were investigated by high-resolution electron microscopy. Diameters of BN nanotubes are in the range of 10–20 nm, and the nanotubes have a zigzag-type structure. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
