Abstract

The article reports that shares in paper companies in Europe are going low due to credit downgrades, increasing energy and raw materials costs, and oversupply across the globe. Major paper and packaging companies in Europe such as Stora Enso, UPM-Kymenne, and Svenska Cellulosa AB have been laying off staff and closing mills to adjust to the oversupply. As the share prices go down, some investors see it as an opportunity to invest and purchase cheap shares.
