Abstract
- An article is presented on the role of science in China's culture and intellectual life. It explains that the New Culture Movement, a group consisting of mainstream intellectuals, focused its scientific interests on society, politics, and culture. It is suggested that China's worldview shifted from a traditional "heavenly" perspective to that of a scientific perspective. This article was translated from the Chinese by Hongmei Yu.
