Abstract

The article discusses a study which investigated the involvement of ribosome assembly factor Ebp2p in the secretory response in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It isolated three temperature-sensitive ebp2 mutant gene by polymerase chain reaction. It is revealed by polymerase analysis that the synthesis of 60S ribosomal sununits was compromised in each of the ebp2 mutants at the restrictive temperature. The ebp2p is implicated in the secretory response such as changes in nucleolar architecture.
