Abstract
- The article reports on the performance of the world stock markets as of September 4, 2008. The pan-European Dow Jones Stoxx 600 index dropped 1.6% to 285.58 amid more concerns about economic growth. The Hang Seng Index in Shanghai, China declined 2.2% to 20585.06, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 3.3% to 11076.83. The Nikkei Stock Average of 225 companies in Tokyo, Japan added 0.6% to 12689.59.
