Abstract

The article details the noble deed of Sergeant Lopez, a U.S. Army medic, and the International Security and Assistance Force in Zabul, Afghanistan. It highlights the effort of Sergeant Lopez to secure a medical attention over a little boy named Muhibullah, who ran into the path of a jingle truck. It notes that priority of admission to these well-equipped hospital is given first to injured coalition soldiers, second to injured Afghan security forces and third to Afghan civilians. It states that by this simple yet noble deed of the soldier amidst the war, there may be a few Afghans who will feel that the assistance force is there to offer genuine help to them when it is needed.
