Abstract
- The article focuses on the transition from school to work for individuals with disabilities in the U.S. It discusses the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the importance of individualized education programs (IEP). The Social Security benefits for people with disabilities are discussed and the work of the Social Security Administration (SSA) in helping the school-to-work transition is noted. It is suggested that Social Security benefits are often overlooked in the transition planning process, and the specific details of the benefits are explored.
