Abstract

A series of stucco marble samples was prepared in the laboratory. All ingredients were selected and treated according to the data found in the literature. The samples were used to establish the experimental conditions necessary for the recovery of the organic modifier of the paste and the organic surface coating. Parameters were selected to describe the composition and possible alteration of the modifier and the coating, using data calculated from amino acid analysis by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and fatty acid analysis by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS), respectively.
