Abstract
- The article offers information on foreign banking in China and its 279 branch units in 32 cities. It is said that to match the global trend, China's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has begun to move toward its services sector. Under the agreement with World Trade Organization (WTO), Chinese government honored the service market inflows of foreign capital. China's economic growth has motivated multinational banks to establish branching in many of its cities. By 2007, 193 banks leased in 47 regions and 242 representatives in China. Presently, it shows foreign banks account for 1252.5 billion in assets, representing 2.38% of China's total banking assets.
