Abstract
- The article reports that Swiss specialty chemical maker Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corp. has agreed to be purchased by chemical company BASF. The purchase sale, approximately $5.5 billion including debt and pensions obligations, will end conflict between Ciba and investors over the future of the company and its chairman, Armin Meyer.
