Educating The Collaborative Major: When, Why & How.

The article presents a panel discussion from the 2008 Pedagogy Saturday conference about teaching accompanying, collaborative piano and chamber music in graduate schools in the U.S. The "Educating the Collaborative Major" panel is composed of four professionals from the music education industry, namely, Carolyn Bridger, Anne Epperson, Jean Barr, and Paul Stewart. They focus on issues related to graduate majors, such as degree requirements, auditioning and selecting new students and assistantships, and working together with others in the department/school.
