Abstract
- The article discusses efforts by states in the South Atlantic region of the United States to raise college graduation rates. The area, which has seen high amounts of growth in high-school graduates in the 2000s, is faced with the question of which schools to place these students in. The region's public universities are attempting to balance competition from increasing amounts of applicants with efforts to enroll minority demographics that have historically been underrepresented on college campuses.
