A woman was injured in an elevator accident at a public housing complex in Manhattan early Thursday, officials said. The woman, Jolanda Joyce, 28, lives at the East River Houses in East Harlem. She told the NY1 cable news channel that when she opened an elevator door on the ground floor of 404 East 105th Street and stepped in, she fell in the shaft because the elevator was not there.
