Abstract

The article reports that the U.S. economic downturn is having a significant financial effect on periodicals which publish on a monthly basis. Corporations are employing shorter lead times when making advertising purchases to control costs. This means the periodicals cannot sell advertising space in time to make their publication deadlines.
