CONSERVACIÓN COMUNITARIA EN LA CUENCA ALTA DEL PAPALOAPAN, SIERRA NORTE DE OAXACA.

The article focuses on the significance of social and institutional conditions for the design of environmental and conservation policies. It discusses the importance of recognizing the variety of ways communities use their natural resources and the diversity of perceptions and valuations of their utility and protection. The author explores the environmental conservation strategies developed in the area of Sierra de Juarez (state of Oaxaca, Mexico), taking into account the natural characteristics of the area, its social fabric and the local government structures.
