Abstract

The article presents a study concerning the chemical analysis on the discovery of new minerals by using an electron microprobe. These minerals include the calvertite, chukanovite, ferroskutterudite and hingannite. Calvertite was discovered during the examination another new mineral gallobeaudanite from the Tsumeb mine, and it found that the small unit cell and the stable character of calvertite is a metastable, highly disordered mineral. The chukanovite is the product of terrestrial alteration found in cavities in the Dronino meteorite, an ataxite iron meteorite consisting of kamacite and minor amounts of taenite and chromite. Moreover, it is indicated that a single-crystal X-ray refinement of hingannite was not possible due to the small size of the crystals.
