Abstract
- The article highlights the handicapping system in golf. In mid-19th century England, the most popular strategy was calculating the best three scores of the player in the current season and comparing it to the ideal score for the course but modern handicapping system faces a challenge in agreeing on a uniform method for calculating the number and a more difficult challenge to figure out a way to rate course uniformly. Former U.S. Golf Association handicapping official Dean Knuth said that the odds of scoring better than your handicap are one in five.
