Abstract
- The article reports that November 18, 2008 was marked by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) as the first annual European Union (EU) Antibiotic Awareness Days. This movement is an effort to enhance the use of antibiotics. They are commonly used in children and each year there are 6 million children prescribed with antibiotics. However, most of the children were given antibiotic prescriptions to treat their viral upper respiratory tract infections. The government in Great Britain should have collaborated with other countries to improve in the identification of pediatric infections management.
