Abstract
- France has rejected a plan to participate in a joint charter flight with Britain to deport to Kabul, Afghanistan's capital, 43 Afghans found without papers near Calais, officials said Tuesday. Geoffroy Didier, an adviser to the immigration minister, said France would not accept Britain's offer to join one of its deportation flights to Afghanistan. He said the Immigration Ministry was working with the United Nations refugee agency, which had recommended no deportations of women, children or Afghans who come from dangerous regions of their homeland. In London, the British Border Agency would not comment on whether the flight would proceed. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
