Abstract

The article presents a study on the N-heterocyclic superelectrophiles and on the structural electron transfer (SET) reactions involving these superelectrophiles. It states that SET chemistry takes place in reactions of ferrocene with oxazole, thiazole, and pyridine-based superelectrophiles. It mentions that bothy low-lying LUMOs and energetically favorable single-electron reductions are regarded important to the success of this SET chemistry.
