A New Mandate for Federal CAFE Standards from the Ninth Circuit.

The article discusses the mandate for federal corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards for light trucks in the U.S. The Ninth Circuit reviewed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) Final Rule from the lawsuit, Center for Biological Diversity v. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Petitioners challenged the standards under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
