Abstract
- The article profiles the East Village Opera Company (EVOC), who mix rock with opera in New York City. The EVOC is founded by arranger Peter Kiesewalter along with singer Tyley Ross, who preserved the tradition of using rock instrument and arrangement to play arias from classic canon. It notes that Kiesewalter writes the orchestral parts on paper then transfers it to Sibellius notation software and nonorchestral instrument are recorded into Digidesign Pro Tools.
