Abstract

The article presents a systematic analysis of three-dose diptherial, tetanus, and pertussis (DPT) immunisation coverage to track the impact of initiatives for childhood global childhood immunisation and the progress towards global childhood immunisation. Bidirectional distance-dependent regression was used to estimate trends in survey-based coverage from 1986-2006 in 193 countries. Researchers found an improvement in survey-based DPT3 immunisation coverage. The authors explain that there is a need for independent monitoring of health indicators.
