Abstract

The article reports on the results of research which was conducted in an effort to determine whether playing golf with titanium drivers can result in hearing loss. The research, which was conducted in response to the case of a 55 year old man with mild hearing loss who used a titanium golf club, found that titanium drivers may produce sufficient sound to induce cochlear damage. As a result of the research, researchers suggested that caution should be exercised by golfers who play regularly with titanium drivers to avoid damage to their hearing.
