Abstract

The article discusses several papers related to social networks, travel and land use. It examines the scope of transportation analysis by paying attention to the effects of social and spatial dependencies on travel behaviour. It claims that the papers focus on intrahousehold interactions and work pertaining the influence of social networks on travel behaviour. The research looks to an increased interest in the social motivators for travel and mobility and their potential to improve the understanding and ability to model urban systems.
