A Sensitive Quantification of HHV-6B by Real-time PCR.

The article presents a study which described an assay for the detection of the human herpesvirus (HHV)-6B B6 mRNA. An introduction to HHV-6B is offered. It details the research materials and methods like primers and probes, RNA purification and reverse transcription (RT)-polymerase chain reaction (PCR), among others. Also discussed are highlights of research findings including the reproducibility of internal control, optimal PCR conditions and detection of viral mRNA in attomol amounts.
