Abstract
- This is a theoretical research paper on the meaning of assessment. It sheds light on understanding learning assessment in a society characterized by the use of new technologies and the access to information. Formal assessment is only a departure point leading to the notion that assessment is an integral, complex and constructive process. The study is based on a democratic assessment model. The technologies assessment draws upon the Science, Technology and Society (STS) approach. Then the discussion moves on to media assessment, hypermedia applications, advantages, limitations, and teaching/learning strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
