Abstract
- The article reports that the economic recession will force Great Britain's independent schools to prioritise teaching over new or updated building facilities, according to Jill Berry, president of the Girls' Schools Association. Smaller schools may also need to merge or restructure resulting from the economy. Berry comments that the quality of learning in the classroom is what matters most and schools will be focusing on keeping fee increases down. Berry's career in education is discussed.
