Abstract

The article is giving brief presentation of European and Serbian experiences, legislative and other measures on combating of mobbing and bullying. Mobbing at work is characterised by systematic psychological abuse or humiliation of a person by and individual or a group, with the aim of damaging his or her reputation, honour, dignity, integrity. It has already been described as a more serious safety and health issue than any other in the workplace. At european level (the EU), diverse efforts have been made to promote actions to tackle mobbing, starting with Directive 89/391. The European Parliament also approved a Resolution on harassment at the workplace (2001). The new European Strategy on Health and Safety (2007-2013) highlights the importance of promoting mental health at work. Following this, Serbian Government also has prepared the Draft act on combating harassment at the workplace. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
