Abstract

A new planktonic foraminiferal taxon, Hillsella hillsi n. g., n. sp., is described from the upper Turonian-Coniacian sediments of the Caribbean region. The new taxon is included within the Family Hedbergellinae Loeblich and Tappan 1961 and is characterized by a cancellate test wall, which is described for the first time from below the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary.
