Abstract

The article presents an overview of epistaxis, which is commonly called nosebleed and effects approximately 60% of all people across the globe at some point in their lives. A discussion of the anatomical features of epistaxis and its causes is presented. Its treatment and associated conditions which may contribute to it are discussed. The case of a 61 year old man who presented to an emergency room with left sided epistaxis that had continued for one hour and was successfully treated, is presented and examined.
