Abstract

The article reports that the Lisbon Treaty was supposed to mark the end of confusion brought about by failure to ratify the treaty establishing a constitution for the European Union. If it is ratified, the Lisbon Treaty will introduce amendments to the existing treaties. The amendments include the renaming of the Treaty on European Union which sets out general principles and institutional arrangements.
