Abstract

The article examines China's economic policy. The financial crisis and global recession has slowed the country's effort to privatize most of its economy. Several private companies created from previously government-owned businesses have been forced to ask for government financial assistance. Ironically, these companies' stock prices often increase when the government intervenes in their finances.
