Abstract

For all those who tried and failed to snare a ticket to the recent critically acclaimed production of ''Othello'' by Theater for a New Audience, there's hope yet: it's returning for an unusually limited engagement -- 12 performances in mid-April -- with an eye toward an eventual commercial run. Jeffrey Horowitz, the company's artistic director, said he had heard from ''a number of interested commercial parties'' about the show since it closed last week, including potential investors and producers who did not have a chance to see a performance during its three-week run at the Duke on 42nd Street Theater. The production, directed by Arin Arbus, will return to the Duke from April 15 to 24, with the entire cast intact, including John Douglas Thompson, below left, as Othello and Ned Eisenberg as Iago. ''What we want to do is get it back up on its feet, have more of the public see it, have commercial parties see it, and see where it goes from there,'' Mr. Horowitz said. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
