Abstract

The article presents the results of a study which investigated the effects of weight training on postmenopausal women in terms of preventing bone loss. An overview of related previous research is provided, along with details of the experimental protocol. It was found that bone mineral density was not significantly affected by these exercises during the course of the 24-week study. Exercises included hip adductions and abductions, knee extensions, arm curls and sit-ups.
