Public Roles of Private Entrepreneurs in China: Participation in Formal Political Institutions.

The article examines the link between the political embeddedness and political beliefs of private entrepreneurs in China, and the range of political activities they engage in, to determine whether they act as agents of political change. The influence of official political and business organizations on the extent of the entrepreneurs' political participation is examined, as well as the effect of the extent their attitudes toward democracy on the types of political participation they engage in.
