Abstract

The article presents a study which investigated the incidence, HIV subtype, demographics and genotypic resistance of acute HIV infections in Thailand's high-risk population. The researchers screened 6426 stored samples at the Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic for acute HIV infection using two methods. The results of the screening are presented. The study offered the first report of acute HIV infection in Thailand which was antibody-negative and positive in nucleic acid testing (NAT).
