Abstract

The article reports that Buddhists in Bhutan have said that alcoholism in youth has been threatening the stability of their local society. They want young people to look towards traditional spiritualism and austerity in order to stay away from it. Buddhist monk Nawang Choden says that monks and nuns should bring the youth out of the make-merry lifestyle and help them to imbibe the essence of Buddhist heritage in Bhutan, which is the cradle of Buddhist values of austerity and abstention.
