Abstract: The article discusses about newspaper ownership. Newspaper ownership model seems to be weakening, affected by eroding margins, sputtering cash flows and shrinking advertising dollars. The Wall Street has send newspaper stocks down by 70 percent or more. Some of the alternative ownership ideas include federal or state government bailout, adoption of newspapers by foundations and nonprofits organizations, and exemption of newspapers from antitrust rules.
