Multiple Drug Ingestion by Ecstasy Abusers in the United States.

The article presents a study that aims to determine the patterns and prevalence of licit and illicit drugs in urine samples of individuals using ecstasy in the U.S. The study reveals that urine specimens were confirmed positive to contain ecstasy-type drugs such as 3,4-methylenedioxymethampethamine (MDMA) and 3,4-methylenedioxyampethamine (MDA). It notes that aside from MDMA and MDA, the specimens also contain metabolites and other substances including cannabis, opiates, and alprazolam, suggesting multidrug use among the sample population.
