Abstract

The article discusses moral and philosophical aspects of the first-person-shooter video game Bioshock. The game incorporates elements of objectivism from the work of author Ayn Rand into its story of scientists and artists who isolate themselves in a city called Rapture. The author discusses moral choices faced by game players and how the game's story reflects the concept of an unreliable narrator. He characterizes video games as a form of interactive fiction.
