Global Hawk Gaining Scientific Pedigree.

The article reports on the decision to use two high flying Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicles for environmental science research missions. The initiative was undertaken under a joint effort by the Dryden Flight Research Center of the U.S. National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) and Northrop Grumman Corp. Six long-duration missions comprise the first earth science mission over the Pacific and Arctic regions in 2009.
