Managing complexity.

The article discusses strategies to sustainable water delivery, citing the Green Paper published by the British Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). Political, technological and economic dimensions of water management are discussed. Major issues encountered in sustainable development are controlling infectious diseases, minimizing the transfer of environmental costs and establishing the practice of sustainable consumption. Reductionist approach to problem solving is also discussed.
