Abstract

The article focuses on the pedal driven biodiesel generation in the Kinchlingi and Tumba villages of India, that are used as alternative fuels. The biodiesel reactor produces biodiesel to fuel a pump-set that supplies drinking and running water for the villagers. This is a result of the efforts of the nonprofit organization CTx GreEn of Canada, that works in India with several partners, that strives to maximize the efficiency of human effort, while optimizing the amount of mechanization needed. Kinchlingi grows a non-intensive edible oilseed crop that produces the oil needed for the bio-diesel.
