Abstract
- The article presents an in-depth exploration into the "Ukrainization" education and language movement within Soviet Ukraine in the 1920s. Details are given overviewing the ideological foundations of the initiative, seeking to bring about educational reforms by establishing the institutional infrastructure of the primary use of the Ukrainian language instead of Russian. Analysis is offered examining the implementation of the policy and the socio-political responses which emerged on its account during the decade.
