Abstract
- The EFFECTS project has developed and piloted a set of generic learning outcomes that form the basis of a national accreditation framework for academic development in the use of communications and information technology (C&IT) in the UK. The outcomes have now been implemented at a range of institutions, and an evaluation of this process has been completed. This evaluation has addressed issues of academic support and institutional change, and has provided examples of good practice for academic development in the use of learning technology in HE. In this paper, an overview of the EFFECTS project is presented, outlining its evaluation strategy and summarizing the findings of the pilot phase. This baseline description will then be developed through the presentation and discussion of findings from the year-long 'implementation' phase of the project. The paper will conclude with recommendations for academic developers working in this area, and will outline the focus for the final phase of the project. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
