Abstract

The article reports on the research on the Timing of Identification among Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Findings from a Population-based Study. The study examined the timing of identification among children with autism using a population-based sample from an ongoing surveillance effort. The result reveals that the median age of identification was 5.7 years and parametric survival models indicates that several factors were associated with a younger age of identification. It asserts that the large gap between the age at which children can be identified on the basis of best available practices suggests the substantial need for further research.
