Abstract
- The article reports on the decision of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to cancel metal purchases for a national reserve in Russia. It cites that Putin has dispelled the hopes of metal-producing company owners that they could avoid a decline in metal prices and the closure of business enterprises with the help of such purchases. However, metal industry analyst Nikolai Sosnovsky believes that the decision will not have any serious impact on the ferrous metals industry.
