Abstract
- Abstract: CLC-7 is a member of the voltage-gated chloride channels family. It resides mainly in the late endosomes, lysosomes and the ruffled membrane of osteoclasts. Mice deficient in the ubiquitously expressed ClC-7 Cl− channel show severe osteopetrosis and retinal degeneration. In the present review, some of the known features of CLC-7 such as structure, function and its roles in physiological or pathophysiological processes are highlighted. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
